Darts are wedge shapes in a pattern that are used to control fullness and to shape a garment to your body. On a bodice, for example, darts serve to shape the fabric around the curves of the bust. Learn what tools a pattern maker uses and learn how to adjust the darts on a bodice to change the shape of the garment. We will be working on quarter size pattern pieces. Please bring pencil eraser, and photos for inspiration, all other materials will be supplied. I will be using Modern Pattern Design by Harriet Pepin as reference material.
