James Lancaster and Christian Kindel, Our 3D printing guru's in residence will give a workshop on how to use the 3D printing tools at MakeICT. Subjects include what 3D printing is, what different types of 3D printers there are, what we have at MakeICT, and how to use them. How to take a 3D file, generate the gcode for specific printer, and print. We'll also cover normal tasks such as changing the filament, what to do when you have failures(most important), and how to (somewhat) prevent them. Note: This class does not cover designing parts in 3D programs. printing may well go longer than the class.
Once the workshop is don the participants should have a basic knowledge of 3D printing, and also be authorized to use the printers at MakeICT
This workshop will be repeated as needed to get everyone up to speed so don't worry about registration limits. But do make sure to register (don't just click Giong)
