Want to learn to make a quilt? You’re in luck! This is a beginner class to go over the basics of making a quilt.
You will be making a mini quilt sizing about 14 inches by 14 inches. Mini quilts can be used as wall art or a table toppers. Materials will be provided. This is a great opportunity to have hands on experience to learn the process of creating a quilt that can last a lifetime.
This class will cover:
* Safety while cutting fabric and using a sewing machine.
* Find a quilt pattern that fits your project and how to read the pattern.
* Where to find fabric, how to prep, and cut the fabric.
* Selecting the right thread and threading the sewing machine.
* Sewing the first block.
* Importance of pressing.
* Piecing the quilt together.
* Different options for basting.
* QUILTING
* Binding and tagging your finished quilt.
* Share your masterpiece!
This will be a 3 hour class. $15 for members and $20 for non-members. The class size will stay small, 4 available slots, so everyone can create a mini quilt to take home.
A little about myself, I am a self taught quilter and have made over 15 lap to queen size quilts and given as gifts to family members and friends. I’m here to give you the hands on, in person experience that I wished I could have had when I first started.
***Basic sewing machine knowledge is highly recommended but not required. We will not be using the long arm quilting machine during this class
