Digital Design is often a barrier to new makers. In this class, we'll break through those barriers by practicing digital design techniques with Inkscape, a vector based freeware software.

In the class, we'll focus on paths, node editing, tracing bitmaps, combining paths, and separating paths. This will help makers to create separate objects to facilitate different printing needs, be they color demands for screen printing, or varied power demands when Laser Engraving. We'll also practice with more advanced techniques like halftones mixing colors with intentionally translucent inks, should time allow.

Members are encouraged to bring the laptop they most likely plan to use for designing, but MakeICT laptops will be available for use.
