Metal Lathe Basics with Brian and Joe

Learn how to operate each of the two lathes we have a MakeICT Turn different metals, different directions, facing, center hole drilling, touch on threading basics, knurling, and steady rest applications. The goal at the end is for people to have an understanding on both lathes, and how they run and operate. We will be showing how to do set, which is easy. And how to use the steady rest on the Craftsman Lathe because it is necessary to face off long pieces. What we want to do is promote how to use them, along with taking your time and not getting in a hurry. How to make cuts and how deep. I will be covering how cutters affect the surface, either smooth or rough. How different materials can be cut at different depths. The goal is machine usage and their limitations.
